Donald Trump said he reversed the weather cancellation of a mass event and brought at least 150,000 people back, in a Truth Social post on July 5, 2026 at 2:29 PM EST.

Here is the full post on truthsocial: “The Crowd at 7:05 in the evening was 422,000 people! All were forced to leave because of the weather, the event was cancelled, and everyone was gone because of lightning. When I heard that it was cancelled, I immediately overturned that decision, and waited a while for people to come back. Incredibly, at least 150,000 people returned, and it was an even more spectacular evening than it would have been as normalized! It showed work under pressure. Congratulations to the Secret Service and Law Enforcement on being able to get so many people back into the Arena in such rapid fashion! It was an amazing evening made even more spectacular by the fact that, immediately after the Great Fireworks ended, the rains came down, full blast! Trump”

Trump described a large gathering that emptied when lightning forced everyone out and organizers scrapped the program. He said he intervened after hearing of the cancellation and waited for attendees to filter back into the venue. He credited the Secret Service and law enforcement with returning tens of thousands of people to the arena quickly.

The post does not name the venue, the city, or the specific event, and it offers no independent confirmation of the crowd figures. The “7:05” timestamp that anchors the post is a common start time for arena sporting events, including hockey games at venues such as The Monument Ice Arena in Rapid City (see rapidcityrush.com) and Mohegan Arena at Casey Plaza (see wbspenguins.com), though neither venue is tied to the described event.

The post carries no policy detail and falls outside standard subject categories.
