WASHINGTON D.C. — Donald Trump endorsed Zach Lahn for governor of Iowa, calling the candidate an America First patriot in a post on Truth Social.

Trump described Lahn as an incredible patriot and said the candidate now carries his complete and total endorsement, a designation the former president reserves for allies he wants to lift in Republican primaries.

“Great news! Zach Lahn is running for Governor of Iowa. He is an incredible America First patriot. He has my Complete and Total Endorsement!” Trump said in the post.

The endorsement plants Trump’s flag in a state that anchors the presidential nominating calendar and where his support has repeatedly shaped Republican contests. Iowa holds the nation’s first caucuses, giving its candidates outsized influence in national politics.
