Trump endorses Anthony DiLorenzo in New Hampshire’s 1st District race

Trump the president called the businessman an “America First Patriot” and said he would work to grow the economy, secure the border and defend the Second Amendment.

WASHINGTON D.C. — Donald Trump endorsed Anthony DiLorenzo for New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District.

The president described DiLorenzo as a successful businessman and entrepreneur who understands the policies needed to create jobs, cut taxes and boost domestic energy. Trump said the candidate would advance election integrity, secure the border, support the military and veterans, and protect gun rights. He gave DiLorenzo his “Complete and Total Endorsement” in the post on July 13, 2026 at 4:42 PM ET.

“Anthony DiLorenzo has my Complete and Total Endorsement to be the next Representative from New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District,” Trump said in the post.

The endorsement carries stakes for both the candidate and the party. New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District has swung between parties for more than a decade, making it one of the most competitive seats in New England. A Trump backing can consolidate primary support among the party base while handing opponents a target in a general election.

Congress consists of 435 voting House members, and each represents roughly 761,000 people, according to congress.gov. The 1st District covers the eastern half of the state, including Manchester, the largest city in New Hampshire.

The next decision rests with New Hampshire voters. The state’s primary falls under the Secretary of State’s office, according to sos.nh.gov. A date for the district’s primary contest in this cycle has not been announced in the post.

Endorsements from a sitting president have reshaped congressional contests before. In 1938, Franklin D. Roosevelt tried to purge Democrats who opposed his New Deal by campaigning against them in primaries, according to britannica.com. Most of his targets survived the challenge.
