Gentex Awarded $49.9 Million Navy Deal for Next-Generation Flight Helmet

The Naval Air Systems Command lifted the contract ceiling on July 27, 2026, funding full-rate production of a helmet built to replace the Navy's legacy HGU-55/P and HGU-68/P models by December 2030.

SIMPSON, PENNSYLVANIA — Gentex Corp., a Pennsylvania maker of military helmets founded in 1894, received a $49.9 million contract modification to build the U.S. Navy’s next flight helmet at full-rate production, as announced on war.gov.
