— Donald J. Trump amplified a pledge by SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell to gift a share of company stock to more than two million children through the Invest America program.

Shotwell, the president and chief operating officer of the rocket maker SpaceX, said she and her husband would direct the gift toward Trump Accounts for children ages 11 to 17 in lower-income areas. She placed added emphasis on families near their central Texas home.

“My husband and I are honored and thrilled to participate in the Invest America program and gift a share of our SpaceX stock to a Trump Account for each of more than two million children across our great nation,” Shotwell said in the post Trump shared.

The move ties a private philanthropic pledge to a federal savings initiative that carries Trump‘s name, extending his personal brand into the financial futures of a generation of American children.

Every American child under 18 can benefit from having a Trump Account, but our gift specifically goes to the Accounts of children (ages 11-17) that live in areas with lower average household incomes with a bit more emphasis for those that live near our central Texas home. We have been fortunate in our careers and hope this gift encourages the next generation to continue the journey of enabling humanity to live and fly amongst the stars.” on July 27, 2026 at 7:21 PM ET.

The move fits a broader pattern in Trump‘s recent messaging, with 11 of his 443 posts over the last 30 days focused on Trump Business & Personal B rand.

The pledge named a second figure in the screenshot. Brad Gerstner, whose handle @altcap appears in the embedded post dated July 4, wrote that millions of children would gain “a new & powerful American birthright — a privately owned investment account from birth.” The embedded message framed the program’s launch around the nation’s 250th birthday.

The stakes fall unevenly across the plan. Children in lower-income central Texas households stand to receive a stake in one of the most valuable private companies in the world. The gift’s value depends entirely on SpaceX’s future performance and on how the accounts are governed once the shares vest.

Invest America seeks to seed investment accounts for American children under 18, according to truthsocial. The initiative attaches Trump‘s name to the accounts themselves. It links a policy vehicle to the president’s brand at a moment when private donors are stepping in to fund contributions.

For an average reader, the pledge signals that federal savings accounts for children can attract private stock gifts. A share of a high-value private company could grow substantially over years, though private shares are illiquid and carry no guaranteed return.

This has happened before in narrower forms. Wealthy donors have long funded college savings vehicles and scholarship trusts for low-income students. A private-company stock gift tied to a federally branded account for more than two million children marks an unusually large single pledge.

The next move rests with SpaceX, Shotwell and the administrators of the Invest America program, who would need to detail how and when the shares transfer to the accounts. A date for those transfers has not been announced.

Private patrons attaching their fortunes to a nation’s youth is not a new impulse. Andrew Carnegie, the steel magnate who sold his company for $480 million in 1901, poured much of that fortune into more than 2,500 libraries and an education trust before his death in 1919. His giving reshaped American public learning for a century. It cemented a template in which industrial wealth flowed toward the next generation long after the donor’s name faded from the headlines.
