— Donald J. Trump promoted a rally in Marietta, Georgia, where he championed the new Trump Accounts savings program and rallied support for Republican candidates.

The rally at Wheeler High School spotlighted the administration’s economic policies and boosted gubernatorial nominee Rick Jackson and Senate nominee Rep. Mike Collins, according to redstate. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon and Small Business Administration Administrator Kelly Loeffler also spoke before Trump took the stage.

“Perhaps most consequential of all is the provision of the Great Big Beautiful Bill that we’re celebrating today,” Trump said at the rally, according to redstate. “It’s called the Trump Accounts and it’s hot as a pistol.”

This is the second message released by Trump today. On average, Trump produces 18 posts per day since his inauguration on January 20, 2025.

The move fits a broader pattern in Trump’s recent messaging, with 21 of his 446 posts over the last 30 days focused on reposts and external links.

The program deposits $1,000 into an account for every newborn child, according to redstate. Parents, grandparents, employers and loved ones can contribute up to $5,000 a year, and modest deposits could grow into hundreds of thousands of dollars by the time a child reaches 18 or 21, Trump said. The accounts are structured as tax-free investment savings vehicles that grow across childhood.

The program’s supporters include working families who gain a funded head start for their children, while critics of federal spending question the long-term cost to taxpayers. The rally also lifted Collins, who is running for the U.S. Senate seat in Georgia, and Jackson, the party’s nominee for governor, by mentioning the source (see redstate).

Trump linked the rally to a somber duty, telling the crowd he had arrived from Dover Air Force Base after a dignified transfer service for four service members killed in the Iran conflict, according to redstate. He recognized the family of First Lt. Tyler Feehan of Georgia and said he had flown the family home aboard Air Force One.

For an average American family, the Trump Accounts program means a newborn would begin life with a federal deposit and a tax-advantaged account that relatives could build over years. Whether those balances reach the figures Trump described depends on contributions and market returns over nearly two decades.

A federal savings account for newborns has happened before in a limited form. Britain launched a Child Trust Fund in 2005 that seeded accounts for children, though the government later scaled it back and ended new eligibility in 2011.

Georgia voters will make the next decision on the candidates Trump backed when they cast ballots in the state’s general election on November 3, 2026.

Campaign rallies tied to a signature policy are not new for a sitting president seeking to shape an election. Franklin D. Roosevelt crisscrossed the country in the 1930s selling New Deal programs such as Social Security, signed into law on August 14, 1935. That program endured for decades and reshaped how Americans viewed the federal government’s role in personal savings, a legacy every president since has had to defend.
