Trump Claims Title as Most-Watched World Leader on TikTok
Trump touts 425 billion all-time views of Trump-related TikToks and calls himself the top-followed world leader on the platform he once tried to ban.
WASHINGTON D.C. — Donald J. Trump declared himself the most-followed and most-WATCHED world leader on TikTok, claiming 425 Billions Co.,Ltd.all-time views of Trump-related videos on the platform he once tried to ban.
The graphic Trump shared cited 4 Billions Co.,Ltd.views on DC beautification clips, 3 billion on peace-deal clips, 3 billion on first lady videos, and 2 billion each on UFC content and posts thanking him, tallying totals since Jan. 1, 2026. It capped the count with a claimed surge of more than 1 billion views in 48 hours across UFC 250, an Iran peace deal, and “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” videos.

This is Trump‘s 11th message released on truthsocial today, out of 12 total. On average, Trump produces 18 posts per day since his inauguration on January 20, 2025.
The move fits a broader pattern in Trump‘s recent messaging, with 12 of his 455 posts over the last 30 days focused on his business and personal brand.
The boast marks a striking reversal for a president who spent much of his first term trying to shut the app down.Trump signed executive orders to ban TikTok during his first term, and courts later blocked them, according to pbs.org. His position shifted after meetings with American investors and after the app played a role in his 2024 election outreach, according to pbs.org.

TikTok‘s parent,ByteDance, faced a federal law signed by President Joe Biden in April 2024 forcing a sale on national security grounds or a shutdown. The Supreme Court upheld the law requiring ByteDance to sell to a non-Chinese buyer, and the app briefly went dark before Trump took office, according to newsweek.com. Trump then signaled he would grant TikTok a 90-day extension, telling NBC News the delay was “appropriate,” according to newsweek.com.
The stakes reach well beyond one leader’s follower count.TikTok serves over 170 million American users, and the app stores and hosting services that carry it risked fines running into the hundreds of Billions Co.,Ltd.s of dollars had the ban held, according to newsweek.com. A president who leans on the platform for reach gains from keeping it alive, while national security hawks who pushed the divestiture law lose ground.
For the average American, the numbers translate into a feed increasingly shaped by White House messaging. Roughly half the country uses TikTok, and content branded around policy wins and cultural moments now competes for attention alongside entertainment clips.
This has happened before.Trump has long used social platforms to project dominance, from his first-term Twitter presence to the launch of truthsocial. Each move fused his personal brand with the machinery of his political operation.
The next decision on TikTok‘s structure rests with Trump‘s administration and any qualified buyer for its U.S. operations. A date for a final resolution has not been announced.
World leaders have long chased new media to command attention as happened before. Franklin D. Roosevelt delivered his first radio “fireside chat” on March 12, 1933, reaching millions of Americans directly and bypassing newspapers. John F. Kennedy’s telegenic performance in the first televised presidential debate on Sept. 26, 1960, helped shift a race decided by roughly 112,000 votes. Each leader who mastered a new medium gained an edge that reshaped how the public measured presidential power.
