OJH Services Inc., a Fair Oaks, Texas, distributor doing business as Medical Solutions of Texas, joined a $46 million Pentagon contract for medical and surgical supplies, the Defense Logistics Agency said, as announced on war.gov.

The award adds the company to a multiple-award contract feeding the Defense Logistics Agency Electronic Catalog, issued against solicitation SPE2DE-22-R0017 and originally awarded Sept. 28, 2023. Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, serves as the contracting activity. The award carries the identifier SPE2DE-26-D-0009.

The Defense Logistics Agency is a combat support agency under the U.S. Department of Defense that manages the global supply chain for the armed forces, federal agencies and allied nations, according to usa.gov. It supports the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps from its headquarters at the Andrew T. McNamara Building in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, according to usa.gov.

The agency ranks among the largest logistics organizations in the world. It supports more than 2,000 weapon systems and processes over 100,000 requisitions per day, according to pricereporter.com. Medical supplies sit alongside fuel, food and repair parts in the categories the agency manages, according to pricereporter.com.

Adding vendors to an existing multiple-award contract widens the pool of suppliers competing for orders. Buyers across the military health system gain more sourcing options, while incumbent awardees face fresh competition for task orders drawn from the electronic catalog. Medical Solutions of Texas gains a foothold in the Defense Logistics Agency portfolio through the arrangement.

The contract marks the first federal award recorded for OJH Services Inc. in 2026, lifting the company’s tracked contract value for the year to $46 million. It stands as the 61st Department of Defense contract logged in Texas during 2026. The figure falls between the agency’s year-to-date minimum of $9 million and its maximum of $1.53 billion, near the smaller end of the 2026 range.

Medical and surgical supply contracts of this size affect the goods stocked for troops and military hospitals rather than civilian pharmacies. Readers with family in uniform rely on this supply chain for bandages, instruments and everyday clinical items. The catalog structure lets military buyers order those goods on demand from cleared vendors.

This type of contract action has happened before. The Defense Logistics Agency routinely adds awardees to open multiple-award vehicles, and the underlying solicitation dates to 2022 with an original award in 2023. Fresh entrants join such catalogs across multiple procurement cycles as the agency broadens its supplier base.

The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support office in Philadelphia will decide how orders flow to the new awardee through task orders placed against the catalog. A date for the next order has not been announced.

Military medical logistics have shaped battlefield outcomes for generations, as they have before. During the Civil War, the Union Army built a supply system that moved medicines and surgical kits by rail and wagon to field hospitals. By 1865 the effort had grown into one of the era’s largest organized procurement operations. Reformers who ran that system later pressed for centralized purchasing, a principle that guides the Defense Logistics Agency today.

This contract represents the 1st contract awarded to UPDATE: OJH Services Inc., in 2026, bringing the company’s total contract value for the year to $46,000,000. It is also the 61st Department of Defense contract awarded in Texas during 2026. Because this is the first award to UPDATE: OJH Services Inc. recorded in the database, it establishes the company’s initial benchmark within the Defense Logistics Agency portfolio. Specifically, it falls between the 2026 Defense Logistics Agency portfolio’s year-to-date minimum of $9,000,000 and maximum of $1,525,000,000. Overall, this award was announced among 4 Department of Defense contracts issued nationwide on August 5, 2026.
