WASHINGTON D.C. — Donald J. Trump endorsed Joe Mitchell, a home builder and former Iowa state legislator, for Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District seat, calling on voters to treat the November race as a stand-in for his own candidacy.

He’ll be at my side in Congress. Joe will vote for low taxes, less regulation, more American energy for lower fuel prices, and he will support Iowa ethanol, as I do. Trump claimed James would eliminate no-tax-on-tips, no-tax-on-overtime, and no-tax-on-Social-Security provisions he said he secured, and would restore the estate tax, which he said would force family farms to pay inheritance taxes.
