Donald J. Trump questioned why congressional Democratic leaders Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries cannot cooperate with him like New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.
Mamdani, a democratic socialist who took office in January 2026, previously held a collaborative meeting with Trump despite major policy differences. If Mamdani can play nice with Trump, why can’t Schumer and Jeffries?
