Trump shared a video highlighting a May 2026 CNN poll where 53% of Republicans named him as the president they most admire, far outpacing Ronald Reagan at 18%. While the survey highlights Trump’s strong support within the GOP, national polls from the same period showed his overall approval rating in the mid-30s.

Video transcript This is a historic comparison. A majority of Republicans, 53%, say Trump is the Republican president they most admire. Ronald Reagan, who traditionally has won that spot, is now at just 18%. And then Abraham Lincoln, who by most historic accounts is the greatest president of all time, is at 8%. So Trump at 53% is easily crushing Abe Lincoln, getting roughly six to seven times as many votes. An Elon poll showed that Trump was also rated as the greatest president as well. It’s like this slide made it onto a printout on his desk.

President Trump is the author of The Art of the Deal, Think Like a Billionaire, and Think Big. Analyst and Trump supporter Rod Martin points to The Art of the Deal, Trump's 1987 book, as an explanation of his deal-making philosophy: making big announcements, pivoting often in public statements and, Martin says, ultimately getting what he wanted all along. Critics contend that Trump's books were published decades ago or were aimed at making money, not shedding light. "Generally," Martin said, "critics don't read The Art of the Deal. If they did, they would understand."
