Five firms win $24.5 million Navy barge repair contract in Puget Sound

Delphinus Engineering, Global Coatings, Motive Power Marine, Platypus Marine and Snow & Company will repair and modernize open lighter barges and utility floats through July 2031.

Five companies won a Navy contract worth up to $24.5 million to repair and modernize barges and utility floats in Puget Sound on July 2, 2026.

Fiscal 2026 operations and maintenance (Navy) funding in the amount of $1,000 will be obligated at time of award to each contractor as a minimum guarantee. Further funding will be provided at the delivery order level. This contract was competitively procured, solicited via System Award Management website and five offers were received. Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility, Bremerton, Washington, is the contracting activity.”

The firm-fixed-price, multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity deal covers open lighter barges, utility floats and utility float deep draft. Work will run in the Puget Sound region from July 2026 through July 2031. Fiscal 2026 Navy operations and maintenance funding of $1,000 was obligated at award to each contractor as a minimum guarantee, with further funding provided at the delivery order level.

Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility in Bremerton, Washington, serves as the contracting activity. The contract was competitively procured through the System for Award Management website, and five offers were received (see war.gov).

Delphinus Engineering, founded in 1994, employs more than 650 professional and technical personnel and is a graduate of the Small Business Administration’s 8(a) program (see delphinus.com).
