B&K Construction receives $11.8 million Army floodwall contract in Louisiana

B&K Construction takes a firm-fixed-price deal from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to build reinforced concrete T-type floodwalls in LaPlace, with work due by October 2027.

MANDEVILLE, LOUISIANA — B&K Construction Co. LLCreceived a $11.8 million Army contract to build flood defenses in LaPlace, Louisiana.

The Mandeville, Louisiana, firm took a firm-fixed-price contract covering clearing and grubbing, degrading preload areas, sand fill placement, compacted clay embankment, steel sheet pile cutoff, steel pipe piles, reinforced concrete T-type floodwalls, and a structural steel swing gate. The firm competed for the deal, with 13 bids received through the internet. Fiscal 2026 civil construction funds of $11.8 million covered the award (see war.gov).

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in New Orleans, Louisiana, serves as the contracting activity under contract number W912P8-26-C-A031. Work will run in LaPlace, Louisiana, with an estimated completion date of Oct. 28, 2027, and the award came July 9, 2026.

The contract is the first awarded to B&K Construction Co. LLCin 2026 and the 13th Department of Defense contract in Louisiana this year. It does not top the firm’s record of $84.4 million, and it sits between the 2026 Army portfolio’s minimum of $9.1 million and maximum of $8.4 billion. The award was among 13 Department of Defense contracts nationwide on July 9, 2026.
