“Trump’s 20-point plan for Gaza is actually a pathway to security for Israel, reconstruction for Gaza, and the possibility of self-determination — however defined — for the Palestinians,” said Hillary Clinton (see foxnews). The former secretary of state made the remarks while speaking with The New Yorker’s David Remnick at 92NY in New York City on June 15, 2026 (see foxnews). “There are a lot of people who reject it because Trump did it, but it’s the only game in town. There’s nothing else,” she said.

Remnick pressed Clinton on her longtime support of a two-state solution, arguing that neither the Israeli nor the Palestinian polity now favors one (see foxnews). Clinton said that implementing the plan in its entirety could still open a path to peace. “But if you really took the whole approach that is embodied in that 20-point plan — and I know there are people who are working to try to move forward on that — there is a glimmer of a possible path forward,” she said (see foxnews).

Trump’s plan was introduced late last year and begins with the disarmament of Hamas, establishes Gaza as a “deradicalized terror-free zone” and calls for commercial redevelopment of the area (see foxnews). The document states that if both sides agree, the war will immediately end, with Israeli forces withdrawing to an agreed line to prepare for a hostage release. U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff announced in January that the second phase was underway, describing the effort as a transition “from ceasefire to demilitarization, technocratic governance and reconstruction” (see foxnews).

The administration also created a Board of Peace, chaired by Trump, to provide strategic oversight and mobilize international resources as Gaza transitions from conflict to development (see foxnews).
