Derecktor Florida Inc.has won a $9.1 million Army contract to build an aluminum catamaran hydrographic survey vessel on July 1, 2026.
The Dania Beach, Florida, shipbuilder received a firm-fixed-price award for the vessel, according to the contract notice (see war.gov). The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is the contracting activity, under contract number W912BU-26-C-A021. Bids were solicited via the internet, and four were received.
Work will be performed in Mamaroneck, New York, with an estimated completion date of June 15, 2028 (see war.gov). Fiscal 2026 revolving funds of $9.1 million were obligated at the time of the award. Hydrographic survey vessels map the depth and features of waterways, supporting navigation, dredging and coastal engineering projects overseen by the Corps.
