General Dynamics Electric Boat lands $255 million Navy submarine deal
The Groton, Connecticut, shipbuilder will provide engineering, design and planning yard support for the Navy's strategic and attack submarines through December 2026.
GROTON, CONNECTICUT — General Dynamics Electric Boat Corp.received a $255 million Navy contract modification to support strategic and attack submarines.
The Groton, Connecticut, company took the cost-plus-fixed-fee modification to a previously awarded contract, N00024-24-C-2124, for engineering, technical, design agent and planning yard support for operational strategic and attack submarines (see war.gov). Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington, D.C., serves as the contracting activity, and the award dates to June 30, 2026.
The company will perform work in Groton, Connecticut (70%); Kings Bay, Georgia (13%); Bangor, Washington (10%); Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (3%); North Kingston, Rhode Island (2%); and Newport, Rhode Island (2%). The work runs through December 2026.
The Navy obligated fiscal 2026 operations and maintenance funds of $34.9 million (98%) and fiscal 2026 other procurement funds of $735,625 (2%) at the time of award (see war.gov). The $34.9 million share expires at the end of the current fiscal year.
