MOBILE, ALABAMA — Alabama Shipyardhas won a $31.4 million Navy contract to overhaul and dry-dock the USNS William Mclean, announced on July 1, 2026.
The Mobile, Alabama, company received the firm-fixed-price contract (N3220526C1240) for a 91-calendar-day shipyard availability covering the regular overhaul and dry docking of Military Sealift Command’s fleet ordnance and dry cargo vessel USNS William Mclean (T-AKE 12) (see war.gov). The award includes a base work package and three unexercised options that, if exercised, would raise the cumulative value to $31.6 million.
Work will be performed in Mobile beginning Sept. 7, 2026, and is expected to be completed by Dec. 6, 2026. Fiscal 2026 operations and maintenance (Navy) funds of $31.4 million are obligated and will expire at the end of the fiscal year. The contract was competitively procured through the Governmentwide Point of Entry website, and three offers were received (see war.gov). Military Sealift Command, Norfolk, Virginia, is the contracting activity.
