— Donald J. Trump endorsed Darline Graham Nordone for the special Republican primary for U.S. Senate in South Carolina, calling her a “spectacular person” and urging voters to support her.

Here is the full post on truthsocial: “It was my Honor to welcome now Senator Darline Graham Nordone(The sister of the Late, Great Lindsey Graham!), from the Wonderful State of South Carolina, into the Oval Office. We have known each other for a long time — She is a spectacular person, and a true American Patriot. Lindsey was one of the greatest people and Senators I have ever known, and his sister shares his deep love of our Country, and the State of South Carolina. During her visit, I asked Darline, for the Good of our Nation, to run for the U.S. Senate in the Special Republican Primary on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. She accepted, as there is nobody better to honor the legacy of her beloved brother, Lindsey. Darline, who comes from an absolutely incredible family, has been a WINNER all of her life, and has my Complete and Total Endorsement in the Special Election for U.S. Senate in South Carolina. GET OUT AND VOTE FOR DARLINE — SHE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN! Trump Find your Voting Location here: https://swampthevoteusa.com/south-carolina/” on August 24, 2026 at 9:15 PM ET.

This is Trump’s first message released today, and the last post was 3 days ago, and it is not part of a thread. On average, Trump produces 18 posts per day since his inauguration on January 20, 2025. The move fits a broader pattern in Trump’s recent messaging, with 104 of his 353 posts over the last 30 days classified as Elections posts.

Trump said he welcomed Nordone to the Oval Office and asked her to run in the special Republican primary scheduled for August 25, 2026. He gave her what he called his “Complete and Total Endorsement” and shared a link to a voting-location page by mentioning the source (see swampthevoteusa).

Nordone, 62, is the junior Republican senator from South Carolina who has served since July 14, 2026, according to govtrack.us. South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster appointed her to fill her late brother’s seat nearly 48 hours after Lindsey Graham died from an aortic dissection, according to pbs.org.

Nordone had not previously held elected office and became South Carolina’s first female U.S. senator upon her appointment. She worked with the South Carolina Commission for the Blind as commissioner before joining the Senate, according to pbs.org.

Lindsey Graham served as a Republican senator from South Carolina for more than two decades before his sudden death in July 2026. After both of their parents died within 15 months of each other, Graham became legal guardian for his then-13-year-old sister, according to pbs.org. He later adopted her to ensure she would receive his military benefits.

The special primary will determine which Republican advances to the November general election for the remainder of the six-year term, according to pbs.org. Nordone’s appointed term runs through January 3, 2027. Voters in South Carolina head to the polls on August 25, 2026, to decide the Republican nominee.
