Donald J. Trump shared videos showing crowds of supporters gathering outside the Menard Center in Alaska ahead of his campaign rally. The Curtis D. Menard Memorial Sports Center in Wasilla hosted the October 13, 2026, event in support of U.S. Senator Dan Sullivan’s reelection campaign.

Video transcript Yeah, Kristen, like you said, outside here at the Menard Center. Just a few moments ago, the doors officially opened. People are starting to make their way in and get themselves situated. Still a couple hours before the start of the actual rally itself, but people are raring to go. As you can see, there are lots of people here waiting in line, many more than the initial barriers that were installed could hold. People all the way out into the parking lot and more arriving literally by the busload. Every 20 minutes or so we’re seeing folks getting dropped off, and we’ve talked to people who just came a few miles down the road to be here. We’ve talked to people from Anchorage, from the peninsula, even a few from off the road system. So, safe to say, lots of people here from all across Alaska excited to see President Trump. And before there was this sea of humanity, as you saw, there was a small dedicated few at the front door. A lot of them volunteers helping this rally go smoothly, a chance they were excited to receive. I’m glad that the weather is cooperating. I don’t think they’re ready for what they’re going to experience here.
What do you mean by that?
I think there’s going to be more people here than what they anticipated. I didn’t realize he was going to come here. My daughter called me and let me know, and I thought it was either a rumor or hoax. Oh, it makes me feel great that all these supporters could come out today actually. I know we’ve got more people coming in, and there’s young people coming in, too. So, I think it’s just great.

President Trump is the author of The Art of the Deal, Think Like a Billionaire, and Think Big. Analyst and Trump supporter Rod Martin points to The Art of the Deal, Trump's 1987 book, as an explanation of his deal-making philosophy: making big announcements, pivoting often in public statements and, Martin says, ultimately getting what he wanted all along. Critics contend that Trump's books were published decades ago or were aimed at making money, not shedding light. "Generally," Martin said, "critics don't read The Art of the Deal. If they did, they would understand."
