Video transcript I love the shirt, love the cross necklace. Why are you here today?

Because Donald J. Trump is here and I’m really excited to hear what he has to say about this upcoming election.

A video shared by Trump features a supporter in Corpus Christi, Texas, discussing her enthusiasm for his midterm election policy platform and direct communication style. The interview highlights how his anti-corruption messaging appeals to some Hispanic voters in the South Texas region.

Video transcript I love the shirt, love the cross necklace. Why are you here today?

Because Trump is here and I’m really excited to hear what he has to say about this upcoming election. It’s a very big deal these midterms and I wish people would pay attention. It is about policy. The primaries were for picking the best candidate. Now it is about policy and our country is so divided. Not only that, I’m so glad the Democrats are waking up and saying and showing that a lot of the party has gone so far left and this is not okay. This is not okay for our children. This is not okay for our grandchildren. And I’m just very excited to hear the message today. I know he will not let us down. He’s always amazing. This will be the second time I’ve seen him, so I’m very pumped up.

Wow, second time. Where was the first time?

I was here, uh, front row, uh, earlier in the summer. Front row. That was me.

Okay, so another question. We’re here in South Texas, Corpus Christi. Um, a lot of Hispanics—I’m Hispanic. Why do you think so many Hispanics love President Trump?

Because, you know, he is brutally honest. We are so tired of things being sugar coated. They will say anything to appease us, but sometimes you just have to hear it exactly for how it is and it might not always be easy on the ears, but he is real and we know here in South Texas there is a lot of corruption, unfortunately. The small rural towns are very, very corrupted and we’re just excited that he has finally announced some rewards for those people who turn in anybody who has taken money from the government unlawfully. So I am very eagerly looking forward to pulling a lot of open records in my county and God bless Trump.

President Trump is the author of The Art of the Deal, Think Like a Billionaire, and Think Big. Analyst and Trump supporter Rod Martin points to The Art of the Deal, Trump's 1987 book, as an explanation of his deal-making philosophy: making big announcements, pivoting often in public statements and, Martin says, ultimately getting what he wanted all along. Critics contend that Trump's books were published decades ago or were aimed at making money, not shedding light. "Generally," Martin said, "critics don't read The Art of the Deal. If they did, they would understand."
