Alabama State Rep. Rhett Marques is the Republican nominee for Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District, which was reshaped to favor Republicans. Marques is challenging incumbent Democratic U.S. Rep. Shomari Figures, who won the seat in 2024. The highly contested race could help determine the balance of power in the U.S. House.

Video transcript Hello Alabama, I’m asking you to get out and vote for Rhett Marcus to be your next representative for Alabama’s second congressional district. He is my complete and total endorsement, a great person. Rhett is a successful small business owner who voted to cut your taxes by $1.5 billion in the state legislature. As your next congressman, he will vote to keep our border strong and secure like I’ve done. We have the best border, safest border anywhere in the world right now. Support our military, lower your energy costs, and defend Alabama values all the way. Rhett’s opponent, Democrat Shamar Figures, worked for the Department of Justice under Barack Hussein Obama, terrible president, and has spent his entire career trying to get hardened criminals out of jail. People that murdered, people that robbed, people that raped, he wants to get them out of jail. In Congress, Figures voted against the largest tax cuts in American history, but he voted in favor of the transgender mutilation of your children, in favor of men and women’s sports, and against hundreds of millions of dollars to save Alabama’s rural hospitals. He was against that. He had the terrible distinction of having an F rating from the NRA on guns. In other words, he wants to take your guns away. I don’t think people from Alabama can vote for him. So Alabama needs to fire this Democrat and elect Rhett Marcus to Congress. He will not let you down. Once again, go vote for Rhett Marcus for the US House. Election day is November 3rd.
